Day 7 - Hollywood Asians

Top 5: Hollywood Asians
  1. Bruce Lee
  2. Ang Lee
  3. Sandra Oh
  4. Rucy Riu
  5. Ken Watanabe
The man has been dead for 33 years and is still the most influencial Asian-American of all time. He will always be in the #1 spot. Ang Lee is the man of the hour with Brokeback Mountain and Sandra Oh just finished winning a Golden Globe which makes them a lock at #2 and #3. Rucy Riu wouldn't be close to the #4 spot if it wasn't for Quentin Tarantino. Rounding out the top five is Ken Watanabe and his amazing ability to make films about Japan that are incredibly un-Japanese (Last Samurai, Memoirs of a Geisha).

Honorable Mentions:
Pat Morita glaring for the camera after being snubbed in todays Top 5.

Asian reporter Tricia Takanawa made a strong case for the #5 spot while setting our people back a 1,000 years.

Sulu is gay? Who would have guessed...?

Day 6 - Coolest 80s Cartoon Characters

Top 5: Coolest 80s Cartoon Characters
  1. Snake Eyes (G.I. Joe)
  2. Soundwave (Transformers)
  3. Voltron (Voltron)
  4. Panthro (Thundercats)
  5. Battlecat (He-Man)
Ok Snake Eyes is easily the coolest 80s cartoon character. He didn't speak, no one could beat him in a fight, and he could break dance. Soundwave comes in a close second with his collection of cassette henchmen (Rumble, Ravage, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw). Voltron was the inspiration for Devistator (Transformers) and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He was the original and deserves the #3 spot. Panthro got to drive the Thundercats tank, so he gets the nod at #4. Battlecat was a far cooler then He-Man. Fuck he-man. Battlecat should have just rolled over and mauled He-man Siegfried and Roy styles.
Honorable mention: Usagi Yojimbo (Ninja Turtles)

Day 5 - Video Game Franchises

Top 5: Video Game Franchises
  1. Super Mario Bros.
  2. Final Fantasy
  3. Warcraft
  4. Madden
  5. Legend of Zelda
Super Mario Bros. is simply the king of video game franchises. It has spawned countless influencial games, junk loads of toys, a movie and of course, one of the worst TV shows of all time:
The Super Mario Brothers Super Show
At #2, Final Fantasy is still the premier RPG franchise 20 years after the release of its first game. The stories, characters, gameplay and music of every Final Fantasy game is second to none. Lets just try to forget about The Spirits Within. At #3 is the game that put Blizzard on the map. The most important RTS ever, Warcraft has had 2 sequels, expanded into a hugely sucessful MMORPG and was directly responsible for the greatest RTS ever, Starcraft. The Madden series is the most important sports franchise on the market. Fans of other sports franchises (like NBA Live) dream of the day that their franchise catches up with Madden. I've never been a fan of Zelda. I never owned a Zelda game, but I respect influence the franchise has had on the adventure genre. With spin offs like Ocarina of Time, the Zelda franchise edges out two of my favouire franchises: Street Fighter and Civilization.

Day 4 - Cutest Women In Hollywood

Top 5: Cutest Women in Hollywood
  1. Zooey Deschannel
  2. Scarlett Johansson
  3. Rachel McAdams
  4. Maggie Gyllenhaal
  5. Elisha Cuthbert
She's a talented singer, a wonderful actor and as cute as they get. The charming Zooey Deschannel just manages to edge out Scarlett Johansson as the cutest woman in Hollywood. Fellow York University alumni, Rachel McAdams can be simply stunning and easily deserves the #3 spot. Indie superstar Maggie Gyllenhaal (Secretary, Adaptation, Donnie Darko) is super cute and really knows how to pick her roles. 24's Elisha Cuthbert and her perfect smile just sneaks past Michelle Trachtenberg, Natalie Portman and Keira Knightly into the #5 spot.

Day 3 - Toronto Raptors All-Time

Top 5: Toronto Raptors All-Time
C: Antonio Davis
PF: Chris Bosh
SF: Tracy McGrady
SG: Vince Carter
PG: Damon Stoudamire

Here are the top 5 Raptors at each position. I looked at how they played while in a Raptors uniform. (Therefore guys like Olajuwon and Billups don't count) Antonio, Bosh and Vince are no brainers. Vince is the most important player to ever wear a Raptors jersey, and the Raptors have never had a better center then Davis. Bosh has already done more in Toronto than Camby, JYD or Oakley (although Oakley was a great presence in the locker room). Damon was rookie of the year and played solid ball while in Toronto so he is easily the best choice over Bogues, Jackson and James. T-Mac was a tough choice because he didn't really explode as a player until he got to Orlando. However I still prefer him over Rose, Christie and Mo Pete.

Day 2 - Kevin Smith Films

Top 5: Kevin Smith Films
  1. Chasing Amy
  2. Clerks
  3. Dogma
  4. An Evening With Kevin Smith
  5. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
"I love you. And not in a friendly way..." Clerks is a classic, I'm not going to argue that. However, Chasing Amy showed that Kevin Smith was more than just a one hit wonder. Amy is a deeply personal film that has some of the best examples of what makes Kevin great: Memorable dialogue. "You're just a tracer!" An Evening With Kevin Smith may seem like an odd choice at 4, but it contains 3 hours of some of the best storytelling you'll ever hear. If you haven't seen it, come borrow it from me. I know some of you love Mallrats, but it simply wasn't the film Kevin wanted to make. Jeremy London was just terrible and ruined the film for me. Sorry Sam.

Day 1 - Radiohead Albums

Top 5: Radiohead Albums
  1. OK Computer
  2. The Bends
  3. Kid A
  4. Hail to the Theif
  5. I Might Be Wrong
OK Computer is one of the greatest albums of all time. It was the obvious choice to be the top Radiohead album. I Might be Wrong edges out Amnesiac and Pablo Honey simply for the brilliant live version of "Like Spinning Plates". Pablo Honey has some standout tracks, but it simply lacks the complexity that makes Radiohead special. Amnesiac has grown on me over the years with tracks like "You and Whose Army" and "Knives Out", but it still seems like a bunch of B-Sides from the Kid A sessions.
